Pull the plug

Ok I see pics from your tank thread. Your haddoni was just a baby. I was hoping it would have been 24” +. Following along to see long term success.

Anemone is looking a bit better today. I wonder if my lighting is a bit intense vs where he came from. The new baby clowns won’t leave it alone. They are literally swimming down the mouth. I’m regretting putting them in so early.

Here is a rough nighttime video of the tank.

Saddlebacks are known to do this. Just watch it when feeding as mine steal the food. And if the haddoni gets sickthis force plunging into the mouth could make things worst. I wouldn’t remove them at this moment though.

My saddles always made so much noise. Constant clicking throughout the day and night. That yellow face also turned completely black on both of them. Female got to 5 inches.

Nice pair matched with a lovely electric green. exactly the same as what mine are.

When clownfish try to "divebomb" into an anemone's mouth, it typically means that it's not doing well. However, if its mouth is tightly closed and it's preventing the clownfish from entering, it should be okay (though stressful for an acclimating anemone).

The haddoni appears to be doing okay. Just keep an eye on it, especially for any deflating or lose mouth.

Anemone has been in the tank for 10 days. It still completely deflates each day and then puffs back up. Still not sure if it's going to pull through. Here's a current picture.

Unfortunately he is with the reef in the sky. I don't think he ever looked great after the cross country shipping. He ended up crawling under a rock and he started to disintegrate. I'm totally bummed and I now have a pair of saddleback clowns without a home. I don't plan on replacing with another Haddoni since I'm sticking with the bare bottom.

I have been experimenting since I read your thread. And I found that I am able to keep my haddoni in place if I secure the foot with live rock so that it feels secure.

But long term success is what I am after. I am only 4 weeks in with bare bottom. Mind you my carpets are 1.5 years in my captivity and very healthy.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Perhaps it wasn’t healthy to begin with.
