Pulled the trigger on a CADLight 125 Artisan II

Everyone says 1lb per gallon so at 125 gallons I dunno if I'm gonna be short?

They are guidelines. My tank is 48x24 and I used ~50 pounds to put 1-2" bed all around. what are your dimensions again?

Ok so you've got 2 more square feet than me, I would think 80 might be on the lower end but should do it. You can try to find a 20 pound bag as extra just in case.

Don't worry about the number of pounds of rock. 1 pound of wet live rock is less than 1 pound of dry rock. 1 pound of pukani rock is less than 1 pound of fiji rock. Start with the 100 pounds you ordered. If you use it all and wish you had more, get more. You may decide you want more open spaces and only use 75 pounds. Either way, you will have plenty of surface area for bacteria and will be just fine.

Here is a handy calculator for sand. Just enter your tank dimensions, how deep of a sand bed you want, and it will tell you how many pounds you need.

Yup, should be just fine. And again, if you decide later you want more, you can add more. You just need to rinse it very carefully.

Youll love your artisan ii. I just set my 100g artisan up about a month ago. I dealt with customer service the whole time and they were great. Always got back to me within a day if not faster than that. I also received it in great condition. Glass was great no scratches or anything broken with the stand.

I almost went with an Artisan but decided to go with SCAquariums instead. They get their tanks from the same supplier but have a reputation for better customer service. I went with a 60"x30"x24" drilled for a synergy reef overflow. I'll build the stand myself.... which I really need to get started on!!!

I've heard nothing but good things as far as the quality of the tanks from either supplier unless there is damage in shipping.

I ran 1/8 scale buggies, those got up there in price too. I remember my mugen cost $600 bucks for the kit alone and then the motor another $350, but that's nothing compared to this hobby. **** one radion xr30 is $800 bucks new!

That's a really nice setup you have there! I worked with Scott at Cadlight, it's been a pleasure doing business with him and cadlight so far. Tracking shows tomorrow for delivery, I just got off the phone with the delivery company, they said I should be getting a call tomorrow to setup a time. WOHOO! I just hope it isn't cracked like my trigger sump.

Huge bummer on the sump! I also looked at SCA and CAD and ultimately went with Crystal Dynamic because they are local to me and I wanted to support a local business. Was not as affordable as the other options but they customized the stand a bit for me which turned out AWESOME and it was a really positive experience with them!

I picked up a no-name .21 onroad motor for my buggy that turned out to be one of the best engines I ever bought and it was a steal at $120! I ran a.28 Picco that cost me something like $400 new and it was a huge pain to start even with a starter box. It chewed up 3 different starter wheels because the piston pinch was so tight, even after a gallon was through the motor! Also the starter box battery had to be nearly fully charged otherwise it couldn't turn that motor over. It was a beast, but it was a diva, too.

Ouch!

I just had my Trigger sump delivered last week. They really packed my sump well, it would take quite an impact to crack it.
