I'm in the process for doing an in wall build with fish room behind. So only access is from above and behind the tank. I'm running a ati 4bulb and a few reefbrite lights and my problem is hanging the lights from the ceiling and then being able to move them out of my way for any maintenance in the tank itself. A pulley system was kinda the idea I have had but not sure if there is any other ideas out there that are tried tested and true. Any opinions or ideas would be great. Thanks

Cheers

I've seen folks use linear actuators, though they can certainly get expensive. I'd probably lean toward a compound pulley system with a crank that has some sort of latching mechanism so that you have to hold a tab open while cranking it, like a come along uses. That way it doesn't just lower itself.
