Pulsing Xenia Control Help

I really love the look of pulsing Xenia and being new to corals was excited to see it spread. Today, during a water change found out one can't just pull it out. Do any of you have a good method of keeping it under control or only in certain areas?

In all seriousness, did you try using a razor blade to scrape it off the rocks? Mine used to pop right off.

I just cut it back with scissors. So far, so good.
