Hey all,
Got a nice piece of pulsing Xenia today and I dipped in coral rx, as per instructions and as I do with all coral. I’m assuming it’s just stressed from the dip, but we will see what happens tomorrow morning when the lights go back on. This picture is from about 4:30 this afternoon and it looks the same with the lights off currently. Hoping it opens by the morning! What do you think?

It doesn't look great but if you just put it in the tank I wouldn't worry about it. Xenia is very hardy, I'm sure it'll be fine assuming your parameters are okay.

Yes parameters are all in check. I’m assuming it’s from the dip. But do Xenia close their polyps all night or do they pulse at night also?

Mid tank under moderate light and water flow and assure your phosphate and nitrate levels aren’t elevated.
Salinity 1.025 and temp 77-79

Its not a coral that i would not dip, personally. Either it melts or it thrives. Sometimes it stays in purgatory for a while before deciding...

I had a mixed tank for a decade and it refused to grow. Always melted. Softies, SPS, and LPS thrived. Not it.

I restarted the hobby this summer, and set up an almost identical tank. It thrives. Only difference is i use All for Reef instead of seachem products and feed way more heavy.

It's a coral that will react to sudden changes for sure. That's why they sulk whem put in a new tank.

That one looks just fine. Give it a couple weeks or so. In month or two it will take off. Put it on its own rock, mild flow, for sure.

Thanks for the reply! Will definitely give an update tomorrow!
