Pulsing Xenia not opening

I got a small pulsating Xenia frag 4 days ago and they have still not opened yet. All my other corals are opened but this one. The heads are closed up and it seems that they are slowly fading away. I will try doing a water change later today and see if that helps, but is there any reason that they would be staying closed for so long?

Ime xenia takes alot longer than other corals to get comfortable. But if it's fading away then that is another story. What other corals do you have that are doing good?

Zoanthids, acans, montipora, gsp, duncans, euphyilla, and lps frags.

Just a update: The Xenia’s are doing a lot better and are extended now but still have yet to open and start pulsing. Weird but at least we are getting somewhere. And yes that is actually the Xenia in the second picture, might be hard to tell

May I ask what you did to get them to open?

My husband's closed every time his water was to clean he gave them up for the coral he wanted more

Sorry for the late reply. To be completely honest with you I didnt do anything. I just let them be and they finally started to open up after a few weeks. Now I got a good cluster of them.

Your frag is melting, stressed under shipping I assume. Same thing happened to me. If it dies back to just a bump, don't give up on it. Mine came back really slow. Kind of cool really to see the first pulses when it grows back.
