Hi I am going to add pulsing xenia to an island rock in my DT do they have payltoxin or not should I be careful in handling thanks in advance

Palytoxin is found in palythoas and similair, hence the 'paly' bit, all soft corals can secrete chemicals, so being careful is always a plus, ive never had issues with xenia working with it in the tank and moving it over to another tank.

Doesnt really add much, but dont like giving wrong info lol, second paragraph tells what palytoxin is found in. Basically just palythoas

Awesome thanks for the info as long as I don't swing it around the room should be fine by looks of it just have to keep on top of the growth rate I have read

@4tanks
Welcome to R2R!
Be very careful with Xenia. They can move all over the tank and take over even if you isolate them to an island. They are an absolute PITA. I made the mistake of adding them a few years ago and still have to pull out small batches every now and again. Once you are an established reefer, you will likely not want them anymore.

just wash hand as usual after handling that slimy stuff..lol

Im not too sure how long it takes, i think it will vary, you can see if you look at it somewhat easily , once its attached it should like its beginning to enroach onto the rock
