Pumops Brittle Power Cables

Has anyone had the outer power cable on a pump break as it become brittle and if so, did you manage to fix it somehow? The pump works fine and looking to see if there is a way of repairing the outer protection?

there's some things you can do to reinforce it, but imo i wouldn't trust any of them to be submersible.

Looks like an external air pump? If so, then a bit of shrink tubing or some tape will help to protect the wires (as long as they aren't also broken). If it were a submersible water pump then bin it.

It's a submersible pump powering a Nyos 120 skimmer

I would shrink wrap it for the time being, but it certainly needs to be replaced.

snip the plug off the end and put heat shrink tubing with a little rtv, put new plug on the end, but i still wouldn't submerge it.
