Pump cleaning schedule

How often should you be doing a acid bath for pumps?

I’ve been doing about once a year but am curious to see what everyone else is doing.

I just clean them when they appear to slow down. I use diluted muriatic acid. It can be a few years inbetween cleanings. I mostly use AC pumps (Laguna, Fluval and PanWorld/Blueline) and Tunze pumps and they don't seem to care about regular cleanings.
