Hi there!
I’m looking for a system that I can use for water change on my two tanks. I want to be able to suck water from my tank to a bucket/sink for emptying and then be able to draw in water from the fresh water canisters.

Have used the normal siphon set up, but unless the water can be held higher than the tank it’s difficult to get the new water nicely pouring back in. So I’m thinking an electrical pump to move the water back and forth.

Any tips? Thanks!

I use a small sicce pump for making saltwater makes it much easier and very simple. Don’t use it for water changes because I just do one gallon water changes every other day on a 90 gallon tank.

any pump will do as long as its ok to use in saltwater. Get them as strong as you need it.

I use a Danner Mag Drive 5 to mix my salt and pump fresh saltwater back into my tank.

The pump you by will depend on how high you need to pump your water. For me it’s just the height of the brute trash can. If you need to pump say from your basement to your first floor you will need a stronger pump. I don’t think distance matters as much

Another vote for a small Sicce pump. I have a Sicce 1.0 which i use for topping up my ATO reservoir from a big RO storage bin and for water changes. I'm just about to order a higher flow version for water changes though as the 1.0 just needs a little more flow to make things a bit quicker.
All of the Sicce silent range are advertised as being wet and dry so should be able to draw from a pipe although I cannot see any figures for what height it can pull from.
