Was curious what the best option was for a water mixing station.
I was planning on doing a gravity fed station but with my celing height I figured it would be better to do side by side.

Can a jebao pump be used externally ?

Not wanting to spend a ton of money on a pump for a water mixing station so would be curious what you guys suggest.

I've been using a jebao 10000 pump externally on my salt mixing station for about 8 months now with no problems. I only let the salt mix for a couple of hours then use all of it for a water change.

The left tank is my ato and it is gravity fed to a float switch in my sump.

What is your concern with gravity feed? I’ve been running mine this way since setting up the tank, it’s extremely efficient. My mixing station is 12 feet above the tank in a loft/storage area.

I’m using a Varios-4 on my mixing station. It mixes the 25 gallon tank rather well.

It's not a concern I just don't have enough room to sit one containter higher than the other since the ceiling is only 85 inches high.

Ah, that makes perfect sense.

So, you are needing recommendations for getting the saltwater to your display? Or just mixing the saltwater in the mixing tank?

I probably only have $300 in the whole thing. It sure makes 25 gallon water changes so much easier. :)
Yea see and 25 gallons is just under 50percent my water volume so more then I’ll often need! it would be perfect for my weekly water changes.
Where did you find the NSF barrels?

You would be better off with an external pump like an Iwaki or Pan World. Submersible pumps tend to not hold up as well outside of water. as far as containers Brute trash cans would be the way to go unless you want to spend a lot of money. It's $63 for a 25 gallon container from that link and it's $45 for a 44 gallon Brute trash can.

Panworld pumps are nice. I bought the jebao to have as a backup in case my return pump goes out in my aquarium. I can pull the jebao and throw it in the sump in an emergency. I have redundancy in place for every piece of equipment that can/will fail.

My set was only $160. I have 3 containers. Two 50 gallon drumbs that I got for $20 each and a 30 gallon Brute trash can for mixing.

Man I gotta lock down some space for one of these set ups. DIY stuff keeps this hobby intresting for me while I waitfor corals to grow haha

If any of you are interested... I have 2 Iwaki strictly external pumps for sale. One has 1/2" MPT for both in/out and the other has 3/4" MPT for both in/out. Don't remember the model number or gph off hand. I could let them them go for pretty cheap. PM me if you're interested.

Here’s mine. 2 brute cans, wooden stand that I built, jebao pump. Works great and major timesaver!

My set up is more spread out then normal. I can hold enough water to change the entire 100 gallons of my system. The gate valves ended up being cheaper then ball valves. The remote outlets are used to shut the pump off when refilling the tank.
