Pump Head Calculating

Sorry if this has been asked 100 times... but here goes...

I have a pump that is going to pumping into a filter that is about 10 feet below it in the basement and then back up into the sump... so the water will go up anput 6" then down 10' then through a filter and back up 10' and down the 6" so there is no effective change in the later height as it starts in the sump and ends in the sump. do i need a pump with a 10' head or is just any pump ok since it is going down first?

The filter is closed and not open to the air...

Closed loop system will not have account for height but you will for flow restrictions
