Hey everyone my return pump is making bubbles in the main display. I don’t understand why because it is fully submerged. Could it be my ATO not working properly? Or another problem with the return pump itself?

If they're micro bubbles, it's the skimmer. But yes, you could try aiming the return nozzle(s) slight downward to see if this alleviates things. A sponge/bubble trap before the pump can also help.
Alright nice I’ll try that out see if it works

But the bubbles are micro bubbles. I changed my protein skimmer and to make them go away I usually have to add freshwater so there is more water in the tank and the pump is fully submerged

If the skimmer is generating the micro bubbles you might need to adjust either the skimmer or the water level in that section of the tank (refer to the owner's manual for your skimmer to find the ideal water height; you can also use a riser if need be). So it could simply be that you don't have a high enough water level in your sump. If you have a gate valve on your overflow return you should be able to adjust this.
