I have a 25 gallon cube. It has a mag 3 for a return pump, also a mp10wqd. Looking to add more flow. With my rock the way I have seems like I am getting some dead spots. Now should I get another mp10 out go with a gyre 130? I have the mp10 on the left side note not on the back.

I would think the MP-10 would be more than enough flow. How high do you have it turned up? If you HAD to add another pump, a WP-10 is a good like pump.

One pump is an attractive idea, but can be very limiting in practice.

I'd consider the Tunze 6020 ($43) and 6040 ($140) as better alternates for this tank.

They are about 2.6" cubed, including the mount (which is not very optional) but not including the deflector (which is completely optional).

Considering the $235 in your current pump, you would do better cashing out, upping your investment to afford two 6040's, IMO.

$280 for the pair, but a lot more power and flexibility than what you have now.

For a different idea, consider just adding one or two 6020's to what you have. (Two to four could probably eliminate the current pump as well. Just $86-$172.)

My 2¢! :)

I have a 30 gallon cube (roughly 19 in square) and have only a gyre 130 in it. So far everything is growing well, I would like a little more chaotic flow so have been considering adding another power head (have actually been looking at the tunze mentioned above) but as far as pure volume, the gyre is more than enough

I think the mp10 is just over 50 percent. I turned it up more one day and just to much in front of it but not much behind it do to the rock. I like the gyre but, may just stick with another mp10. Keep it the same
