I am setting up my 90 gallon reef build with a 55 gallon sump. What sized submersible pump should I be running and about how many times should it turn over my tank? Thanks in advanced for your help.

If you have room to have external I would go that way. I use reeflo and love it. In sump you could go with a jebao dc pump which is speed adjustable and affordable. Flow rate is based on type of corals and substrates. You don't want a sand cyclone. SPS love flow. I have a mixed reef and I run as much as I can without my overflows making a ton of noise.

In a small sump you have to worry bout micro bubbles if you go with a lot of flow. If you can kept the bubbles from getting back into the tank you could use a ton of flow if supported by drains etc.

It all depends on what sized over flow your going to be using. 5-6 times the DT turn over rate through the sump is good.
