Hey everyone i am looking for a return pump that needs to pump up 4.5 ft up but with a small footprint in particular width needs to be no bigger than 2.75 inches every small pump i have tried just trickles out anybody no a pump that has some butt to it that would work want at least 300 gph to 500 gph thank you

My Jaebo 6500 dcp works very well at 50% power. Probably double what you need but they make smaller pumps.

I've had good luck with the smaller danner pumps, excellent head on them, wet or dry mount.

If you can't find one small enough you can always run one in line or a canister. Just keep it below the water line, like a big drip loop to keep her primed.

Thanks matt never used dc pump found one that will fit that pumps 520gph with the lift height do you think it will pump anywhere close to that

Hey jay z thanks for reply do not understand what you are saying this is a refigium that i made the return chamber to small for a pump that i want or need looked at the danners have not found one small enough yet

You would put the intake end of the pump into the return chamber to pull water out, mount the pump on something and run the return off the pump back into the tank. If it was a canister, just the intake strainer in the return chamber.

Keep the pump below the ref water level so it always stays primed, or add a check valve.

Not sure if you have room for a external pump or not, just trying to help.

My drawring skills suck. But something like this.

Check valve on the line going back into the tank if it’s not going to be over the water line.

If return line is above the water then keep the return pump under the waterline on the ref so when you turn it off water stays in the return line.

yep, after it runs the first time it will stay primed, check valve would help to insure this. I know some complain about them.

When the pumps turned off the water level in the return line will drop to the ref tank water level.

Or if the pumps above the water line the check valve will keep the water line full. I always run a check valve if a possibility of back siphon is present.
