I like running my Gyres. I shut them off because my large anemones retreat. I have the gyres set on pule on the lowest setting. I sometimes just shut them off for a few days. I mean to keep them off but thw water seems to still and I turn rhem back on. But I don't like watching anemones climb off into the crevices. It doesn't seem to go well once that happens. The anemones seem to do better with the gyres off but it seems better for the entire tank to run them. I have seen videos in youtube where the anemones are whipping around on current. Mine seems to do better with minimal flow. Even none. What do you guys do in your aquariums?

I have a coupe BTA's, one of them is the size of a dinner plate. They tend to inch toward a place they're comfortable and even get into the current somewhat almost like they prefer the turbidity.

With most anemones, too much flow and they retreat or hide. Too little flow and they make their way towards flow and end up at times in a power head. Too little light and they again climb

I would get some anemone guards for your gyre and set the flow to a medium setting. They tend to like flow.

I agree. I saw a video where this guy's liked flow. But mine crawl away or close. I put the flow on 20/10 pulse. So I hooked both gyres up to a timer. I run them intermittently for an hour at a time and shut them off at night. Otherwise my anemones close and or crawl around the rock for shelter.

Get window screening and cut it to fit around your gyre heads. Then use a hot glue gun to connect both ends. Worked great for me and the best part is that they slide right off when I need to clean the gyre.
