My skimmer bubbles make a popping noise, when I add a air pump to the skimmer compartment the noise goes away, is it ok to have this air pump with skimmer the pump is blow down in compartment

Bubbles do make noise when popping, however usually the skimmer is louder than popping noise.
Aa long as it is still skimming out crud, I dont see a problem
