Anyone try this stuff before? Just Alumina oxide, but wondering how effective it is. I am using Pura Phoslock and at $50 for 2.5lbs, I want to go with something a bit cheaper. Pure Power is $10 for 1.8lbs

You don't want to use aluminum based products in a reef!
Unlike ferric oxide or iron based medias which bind and hold the trapped contaminants, aluminum based medias release contaminants when exhausted and it can be catastrophic.
