Purple Coloration turning to green

I am wondering if there is a specific trace element that results in purple coloration of corals? I have a number of corals that were originally a different color and have changed to a green color. I have a purple Stylo that is now a green stylo. It changed from purple to green over the course of a couple of months. It is still doing well with polyp extension but there are no traces of purple on it any more. It seems that purple is the one color of coral that my system does not produce. I have a blue tort which is now showing signs of green skin.

A little background if needed. I have a fairly large system (estimated over 1200 Gallons) I rarely do water changes but I do dose 2 part, potassium, iodine, iron, and manganese. Potassium is 410 so not low. I am probably low to zero on some of the other trace elements other than the ones I manually dose.

One big negative of my system is my nitrates are high over 80ppm. Not sure if high nitrates can effect coral coloration but would love some feedback.

Normally, I would say Nitrates at 80 might be the issue, but recent thoughts on Nitrates is that they are definitely needed. With levels that high though, I might expect some color shift.
Have you ever tried Amino Acids? When I started, I was amazed by imorovements in both growth and coloration. I would say however, use them sparingly. Overdosing can lead to things like Cyano.
I have used TLF Acropower, but there are several other brands on the market as well.

Some say that high amounts of blue light can cause some acros to turn green, not sure if true, i do notice some of my acros turning green and i run alot of blue.

@ndrwater I do dose acropower and have seen a improvement in coloration in red and orange corals. I only does 25ml X 1-2 times a week.

@Brian Bieger I read that article by Jake Adams and it did not mention any elements that I am not already dosing. Thanks for sharing!

I generally do not believe any of the claims that specific trace elements relate to specific colors.
