Purple death paly lighting

I have some nuclear green palys low in my tank right now. When I increased the lighting they started to brown, but when I lowered it they colored up again. Do purple death palys do the same? If I get some should they be low in the tank?

IME purple deaths do the same thing. Low light there a nice bright purple, high light they turn reddish brown.

same thing for me, when i have them in higher light, they get ugly, under barely any light, they look nicer.
