Purple dotty and sexy shrimp

Hi I just got two sexy shrimp 1 day ago and I witnessed my purple dotty chase one of the sexy shrimp and then the purple dotty stopped and the shrimp was just on the glass towards the sand. I left for a bit and now I can’t find the second sexy shrimp that was being chased. Could the dotty eat him? Like the shrimp it self would seem like a challenge for my small dotty to eat him or did the sexy shrimp hide. I know know body can really tell me the answer I just need some high hopes for the little guy. Meanwhile the bigger sexy shrimp is out in the open on the rocks dancing away and the purple dotty doesn’t seem to mind him at all so im just confused. Has anyone kept sexy shrimp and they hid for awhile or do they stay out in the open?

Ive kept them and have 3 now. They usually host one of my corals. Usually my frogspawn but I see them move around to other corals or on the rocks sometimes. Dottybacks can be pretty agro but it's prob just hiding somewhere.

Thanks! My second one is miss in action now so now I’m worried haha the second one was hosting to the anemone but now I don’t see him. Hope they come out. I may go get rock flowers and see if they will come out for those.

Highly likely the dottyback made a meal out of them. Plenty of people with this issue if you search google.
They are mean little fish.

I agree, a dotty most likely will eat them since they are so small.

Dottyback love shrimp. The will pick off hermits as well.
