Hello every one . I just got a pair of purple fire fish, this isn't the first time I have kept them, but this is the first time that the fish hide all the time. They took up residence under a large rock n Braley come out. They stray like maybe 5 inches from the rock but not further. It sucks caude they r pretty fish and I would like to see them swim in the table k like the others I had did. I have a lollypop tang 4 clowns a fairy wrasse and a spotted madarin . What's going on ?

Well when they're new it can take them months to become comfortable enough to come out a lot. If it persists awhile, I'm guessing the clowns or tang may be scaring or bullying them. Not much you can do but remove aggressors or remove the aggressees

Also that term (lollipop tang) is a rare name for powder brown tangs. Is that the fish you speak of? They can be quite aggressive.

Yip powder brown tang, it's weird it don't bother no one in the tank

Everyone I've ever had took months to spend much time out. And if I had any larger fish I'd never see them.
