Hey guys,

I’m excited to add my first gig to the tank after ogling my buddy’s @gig 'em trio of green, purple, and blue gigs. I was able to find a purple gig after a tense... did I just order a haddoni timeframe of about 24hrs. Luckily it was a gig in the end and I’m currently proactively treating it with Cipro.

It’s nice and sticky and attached it’s foot quickly so all good signs so far. I’ll treat it for the next 10 days and then look to introduce it into the main display and pray it stays put in one of the two spots I have for it but we know how that usually goes.

Wish me luck and happy to join the gig club. My apologies for the cloudy water but those familiar with treating gigs know the slightly cloudy look of cipro laden water.

Looks like a nice healthy specimen! I wish best of luck it stays put for you! It will be a nice addition.

Beautiful! Good luck!

Thanks guys! I’m curious about how it’s going to fare in my SPS dominant system... meaning how many acros will it push out as it gets bigger and bigger. :p

When you have a healthy gig you just make way for it haha. Looks like a big nem too. Good luck with it.

Very nice. I hope treatment goes well. Is it going with your RBTA or that awesome SPS system?
Going into the main display with all those SPS it’ll reach out and kill. What have I done!?

You are brave. But if it settles at the bottom of one of those rock columns. Oh wow priceless.
Brave...dumb... sometimes it’s a real fine line. :D

I have a spot in the bottom right or in the middle of the tank on top of a dead efflo plate that I hope I can get it to settle on.

Turn off your power heads when it is put in the tank. No flow will give it time to attach without getting blown around. I have two in a dedicated carpet anemone tank. I rarely feed them. They survive mostly from light. They will catch some frozen when that is fed, thats all. Keeps growth down to minimum. Good luck. Sounds like you are off to a great start.

I appreciate the advice! Yeah, I’m aiming to keep feedings on the lower side to keep it at a manageable size. If I ever upgrade tanks, it’s go time! Get a giant tank and feed the gigs until the cows come home.

Welcome to the club. Since you‘re already familiar with Cipro treatment, I know the gig is in good hands. Best of luck, and keep us posted!

Better late then never for an update. In the display and decided to crawl in the back of the tank behind the rock work. ‍:confused:It’s about 12” across. Yikes! I’ll work on moving it after the holidays.

He looks blue to me. Maybe I am color blinded, or the light spectrum cause the picture to show different color. Nice Gigantea. Now you need a green and a blue (if this is a purple that is)
