I bought three from GCE all put in at the same time, have had them for two weeks. So the other two are doing good but the purple is just purple. For one week I placed it further away in a gentle sway, second week more pronounced flow, and now I moved it in between. Will have to wait and see if it opens. All are placed on the sand.

That type does not like strong flow. See how stiff it is compared the others. Gentle flow is fine. I killed one like yours by giving it too much flow.

Yes, way too much. General rule is, soft pliable gorgs like a little more flow. Stiff ones like in the video, gentle flow. I have about a dozen gorgs. A couple getting to about ten years old.

Here is my tank. There is a pump in back left and front right. Stiff gorgs like yours are placed out of direct flow. The water hits the far side of the tank, slows and dissipates and the stiff gorgs like yours are located where the current bounces off the wall. Therefore,

less flow.
