Purple hammer

Hey guys I just recently ordered a Indo Pacific purple tipped hammer coral. I picked it up for $20 should be here Friday

. The question I had was is this actually a type of hammer or is it more like a frog spawn? Because it looks similar to one, does it need any other special care besides what a normal hammer would have? I have a neon green hammer in my tank. I'm running two kessel a150w 15000k ocean Blend lights on my 65 gallon tank. My tank is 48 inches long and 25 inches high. The neon green hammer sits at about 15 inches. Will it be getting enough light? The neon green hammer I have now hasn't seemed to grow much, is this because of high nitrate? My nitrate was 80 ppm. I did a 15 gallon water change and I am I going to look into vodka dosing to solve this problem. Any help would be appreciated thank you very much.

I also vodka dose it has knocked my nitrates to 0 but u need to do the dosing the right way because if it is to much u will have a bacterial bloom and it sucks trying to straightn all that out. Do research on the vodka dosing and follow it how they say and u should be ok. Remember have patience because it takes a few weeks to get where u need to b with the dosing. I can't remember the articles I read but someone on here will chime n with the links for u to check out.

I try to do them at least once a week but sometimes with school and work it slips away from me that is why I did a 15 gallon yesterday. It is a 65 gallon tank how much should I take out per week? I have a phosband reactor but I need media for it what do you use to control phosphate?

I would change 10 gallons a week for a 15% water change. Honestly, I'm a huge fan of routine water changes and running BRS GFO so you don't have to worry about overdosing anything.
