Purple Hornets On the Way

I ordered a purple hornet polyp from Coral Mania. $120 for ONE POLYP shipped. Seems kinda CRAZY to me but i did it. It should be shipped out today and get to me by Tuesday. I was very reluctant to do it but i want these bad boys soo bad. Hopefully it gets to me OK and thrives in my tank. :bigsmile: What are the proper lighting params for this polyp. I have a 75 gallon with a Sunpod that has 2 150watt 14K Phoenix bulbs. How should i acclimate it to my light. Or where do i put it in my tank? Flow requirements? Thx

should start in the sandbed and move up according but I have my hornets maybe 10-12 inches away from my 150 mh in my 28 nanocube.

I have mine about 12 inches away from my 250w 20K bulbs and they are doing great. Good luck with yours. Post a pic for us when U get them.

Will do thanks guys.... So if you guys have them so close to the halides why should i start on the sandbed? Also how should i acclimate? Should i just throw them in after i equalize the temp? What about flow requirements? I was reading somewhere that even though they require somewhat high lighting that you should never hit them with direct MH lighting for the first day. Ive also heard people dosing vitamin C but i say "never dose something u cant test for". I'm sooo dam excited u have NO idea. I hope they are as bright in person as people say they are.....

I have mine under a 150w sunpod and its mid level in my nanocube, with med flow... ITs been very happy there for months now

When I first got mine, I had them in the bottom third of the tank for one day and moved them up to the top third on the second day and they have been there ever since and doing great.
