Purple long tentacle anemone

I bought a purple anemone online, got the package opened it up and it was bright neon purple. Really didn't expect it to be that bright at all. Did the whole drip acclimation process and got him into the tank. He disappeared for two days, which I pretty much expected. He later came out of hiding and expanded totally light creamish brown coloring. Not even close to looking like the same anemone. I checked the levels of everything and it's all normal. Anyone know what happened?? Or if he'll get his color back?

Most likely stress and more stress, and hiding in darkness. should color back up to purple but not neon. neon usually indicates bleaching. have you tried feeding it?

I didn't take any pics when I first got him but like fluorescent purple. I had no idea they dyed anemones not cool at all. It's doing on now. Def not purple anymore but at least he's looking better

I haven't seen a dyed anemone in many years. it could still color back up.

I didn't think they could get super intense in color till I saw this one while diving in Curacao this past spring. It almost took my breath away....the picture really doesn't do it justice. The yellow one wasn't bad either...saw several of them.
