Hello R2R’ers I have a purple LTA that is not attaching. It’s also not eating but it looks really healthy overall. Purchased about two months ago.
At first I made a little cradle in the sand for him with some rocks. But never attached. Then he drifted for a while and I figured I’d let him settle in his own spot. Fast forward a month and he’s still in the same spot but has not attached. Just swaying in the area fully open but foot just above the sand.

I see the foot with CC and sand attached every once in a while. I don’t see the white spot or “guts” as described in other posts. When purchased he had an orange looking foot. Now he has an all white stalk and base. Been this way for a while. I tried feeding mysis, shrimp, krill, BS, clam, silverside with no luck. Tentacles are sticky but never seems to put it in its mouth and eat like other nems.

Params
A-0
Calc-480
Alk- 10.5
Mag-1250
Ph 8.15
Salt 1.023

All other corals and fish are doing fine as well as a BTA and 7 rock nems. 400gallon DT

I'e heard of a cple things that work...an appropriate sized piece of pvc buried in the sand or create a spot with a shelf like rock dig out sand underneath and tuck him in there.

Ok going to give that a try and turn down flow so it can try and stay put[emoji1417]
