Any idea what these are? I’ve seen some posts say they are almost like GSP and how they spread. Covers a good portion of a piece of rock I picked up. Trying to determine if they are ok if kept isolated, ditch the rock or try to burn these off if they are invasive.

Have about 7-8 arms and a blue center. They seem to retract like a GSP. Tank is mostly SPS.

I can’t really tell with those pics, but by the description I would guess blue clove polyps. They do have the ability to overrun a tank and many consider them a pest.

Thanks all. Pulling the rock. Should I burn them off or just throw the rock away. It’s a small piece so not a terrible loss. Been in the tank about a week

"Ditch the rock" or you may have only those polyps in your entire set up by July, 2019.

They will not survive a month long dip in fresh water, or give the rock to someone you don't like, or give it to someone who wants a tank full of those polyps. They are pretty, invasive, usually.

Never burn live rock! Some polyps give off toxins that can badly injure or kill folks. GL

Lol. Thanks. I just pulled it and set it outside for the trash. Hoping they haven’t had the chance to spread since it’s been in my tank a while. Will keep an eye out.

I’ve burned aiptasia off before but just in spots. This is the whole dang rock it looks like. Too much work and I don’t want to risk inhaling something toxic while burning for a few lbs piece of rock.

Thanks all! You confirmed my suspicions!
