Decided to add my last fish to my tank which was the PSU, apparently he or she, has claimed this middle section as his own. He or she only seems to chase my poor six line wrasse that I love so much. The wrasse is doing a good job at avoiding the PSU but I don't want him getting stressed out.

The clowns and the Chromis don't really go near the PSU but the PSU won't chase them

I have a 40g Nuvvo.

I love the color of this fish but I'm debating removing him my tank was peaceful up until I got it.

Hello,

I agree with others they are not nice critters and if you have both of them, you need a larger tank. I would say a 125 but you could probably get away with a 90. If it was my choice I would do the 125, there is enough space for all. You could try a mirror but no promises it will ultimately solve the problem.

If you decide to change something in the future, then go with a captive bred orchid. Similar color to the purple but people have better luck with them (in fact they are the only dottyback I recommend).

The orchid dottyback is a more peaceful species, but a sixline will likely behave aggressively to the orchid.

Pseudochromis are jerks.

This. Had one in my 45 and he would chase my fire fish through holes in rocks. There was nowhere the firefish could hide.

He went back to the store within a few days. I loved the stunning purple look though.

Decided to return it... Now the issue of catching this sucker... Seems super quick

Is it the same one used for shrimps?

Hmm I’m not sure if people use them for shrimp or not.

Here’s what I made:

I put some food in it and he couldn’t resist. Also I cut the threaded part of the bottle off of the neck because he wouldn’t go in since it was the narrowest part. I waited for him to go in and pulled it out.

Just placed it in the sand bed. He was immediately interested in it and was trying to get in. It probably only took a few minutes for him to figure it out after I removed the threaded part of the bottle neck

Ah yes I did something very similar to this to catch peppermint shrimp. I actually still have the trap. Guess I'll set it in the morning and wait

Glad you decided to remove him, it likely will get much worse not better. A captive bred orchid is a nice a fish but sadly your sixline will likely not let any psuedo or similar fish be added.

Removed him, had to take my entire tank apart. After I did that I was able to catch him. The moment I fixed my tank and removed him from the little holding box he jumps back into the tank. Had to partially redo my tank AGAIN. Was able to catch him and I had to sacrifice him.

Im extremely annoyed by all this, My other fish look super scared. I turned the lights off and added stability to the tank... Hopefully theyre ok..:(

Oh I agree, the 6 line needs to go, that is what I meant in terms of changing things up in the future.

Edit: and where did you place it

There are a couple of different methods but I prefer to weigh down my traps with substrate and stand them vertical. This puts the fish at a disadvantage as it has to swim down and makes the bottle easier to grab. Used this method to capture an aggressive Flame Angel and a Red Head Salon Fairy Wrasse.
