Purple queen anthias

They will start to lose the pink stripe on the back and the dorsal fin will get taller.

Your right, I was having a conversation while typing and ended up not doing either well.

The purple queen transition starts with a fading of the yellow dorsal strip. Pectoral and caudal fins will start to get streamers and the snout extends a little bit. There are a lot of other changes but they come later.

Okay and how easy is it for them to spawn

How long have you had your and what do you have them feeding off of? Any pics?

I have had them for 1 1/2 and they eat frozen

My group of four I've never seen spawn. If either of those two are turning male in your photo, it's very early as the yellow stripe is still pretty visible on both.

It took almost two years before my largest female turned male and then it became aggressive to the other females chasing them into the rocks...where they eventually perished because they don't consume large food items so they need to be fed many times turning the day.
