Ok guys and gals trying to decided what softies corals I am going to add to my system.

I would love more info on this colt coral plz? with pics if anyone has it. I am guessing it's just a fancy street name for a purple colt?
would love to see pics of different colts color morphs.

An extremely hardy octocoral, sometimes becoming invasive. I have had it take over a smaller tank in less than a year, I will see if I can find an image.
Provide a lot of movement for the display by swaying in the current.
Easily fragged.
Parameters are basic, routine water changes replenish the trace elements. Tolerates and may even benefit from a tank where nutrient control methods are minimal, they do well with low level nitrates.
Grows well under most SW aquarium types, power compacts, T5, but should not be placed directly under metal halide or intense LED fixtures such as Kessil, Hydra, Radion.

Someone once told me "this coral could grow in a dirty sock", not quite but it is a fast grower and tolerant of less then perfect water quality.

I was wondering if that was the same coral? wondering if its worth it dont want it taking over the tank...but with some trimming I wonder if it will stay in place? or did it drop babies all over the place?

would love to see that pic.

I want to put one in my 210g tank, but I'm afraid of how massive they get. We called our old one "Colt-zilla". It blocked flow and shaded stuff. They slime when you mess with them, so I wouldn't personally want to trim them in the tank or deal with their healing, if you removed it for the procedure. Ours dropped some babies, but that didn't seem to be a problem. The tank just became a "Colt Tank". I'll see if I have pictures.

We had moved 4 times in 5 years, so that's why the tank looks similar, but not the same. We actually leapfrogged a 60 gallon and a 55 gallon, so this is either of those. I guessing the time between the top picture and the bottom picture is about a year. The purple stuff to the left on the bottom is the colt and it's not fully out because only the blues are on. In the daytime, it went everywhere.

Do these sprout up all over the tank like Kenya tree? I didn't think it did but maybe I'm wrong. Just picked up a big frag and dont want to introduce it to the main tank if thats the case... I can handle a few babies but Kenya tree like scares me.
