I understand that I’m originally from Australia it’s unbelievable there!! It doesn’t matter what type of clams right? also I have some frozen foods such as brine shrimp, snails, mysis shrimp, plankton, and minnows. Will any of those work for now until I find a good supply?

Sorry I never had a starfish so would only be given you Info that you could read yourself if searched .
I would guess would preferably need the clams alive or partly alive on ice at the fish mongers but only a guess.
Someone else should know and answer you
If not start a new thread asking about food to feed that starfish so title will gain more specific interest as this title is purple slimy sponge.

Goodluck and sorry hear about your friend

Thank you

Thank you so much for your help

Thank you he was a very dear friend of mine we have been together since childhood. Yes the sea star is probably my main focus because i have coral and I want to know if he’s reef safe everything else is just weird lol he lived in Charleston sc by Sullivan’s island.
That one will open claims and muscles. I've caught millions in the shrimp net over the years and kept them in an aquarium. Not sure how they react with corals. I did a tank years ago with only NC wild life. Lots of fun. Mud minnows, pin fish, baby blue and spotted crabs and look downs. Those snails were slime eaters in that tank. I'm sure anything green is food. Enjoy!

Frozen class work

Thanks .

My 4 year old daughter wants a starfish,a bog red or blue one she says she wants lol but more often than not hear them only living few months to a year and prefer more mature aquariums and as mine only 1 year old tank I know its not ready ,if could feed frozen and it remained a very healthy specimen then that be ideal but I've said in my head wait till 1 year mark and think about and research getting a scooter blenny or mandarin and then at 2 year stage think about and research more on the star fish, probably some kind of linkia.

But at one year stage and no rush in stocking tank up and let it brew/ mature more before bite bullet on them 2 above ^_^
