Anyone know what purple thing is? Came in on my toadstool coral. I think the other tubular projections might be dead vermetid snails?

Hmm hard to tell. Could be gsp mat and they are hiding. Some zoa mats look like that too

I don't think it's a GSP mat as the surface is smooth - those white dots are inside it. It looks very different to my gsp mat. Its around 1 cm long.

Need clearer pic under white lighting.

That is white lighting, and as clear a pic I can get unfortunately. I held that right up to the glass when I took the picture. Tbh that's pretty much what it looks like. Like a purple blob, smooth outside, with what looks like white eggs inside?

From your description it sounds like Blue Plating Sponge, the white dots are the vents, where it pushes sea water through the sponge. I had it in my 90 gallon to combat repeated outbreaks of red cyno bacteria. Never had another outbreak. Depending on your nutrient levels, it can get quite large, but is easy to sell or give away.

Mm looking at pics on google not so sure it is. Guess I'll just have to keep an eye on it and see. It's clear with purple hue... whereas the sponges look opaque or translucent.
