hey there I’ve had a purple sytlo for around 3 /4 months (I’ve heard these corals are ment to be like the weeds of sps ..)

Mine sytlo isn’t growing or showing white tips , but good poly extension since day one and I can’t figure out why ..

Other sps acros, monti, and anacropora are all showing white growth tips and seem to be doing just fine slow but growing just the sytlo isn’t

I try to keep my tank as stable as possible

P04 - 0.07 (Hannah)
Alk 8.5 (Hannah)
Cal 450
Nitrate 17.2 (Hannah)
Mag not sure but always in range on the monthy icp as I dose 2 part ..
ph 8.3

I dose amnio acids every other day (9ml )

And ph plus Z elements one and two daily too stable my alk/ph/cal

Water box 110.4

Last icp I had elevated zinc but battled that with activated carbon and a poly pad

Sorry for my photo skills but here some of the coral..

I would say be patient.
They grow in there time. It will probably put down a base first.
Steady the course.

I agree; be patient, and it will grow in time. The worst thing you can do is start dosing various chemicals and try to force it to grow.

At this point, your levels looks fine. Nitrates a little high but nothing crazy and I wouldn't worry about it. Double check make sure your mag is in an good range 1350 to 1450ppm. Next double-check Light PAR, you can rent a meter. Most sps do well in 250 to 400 par. Given your extra nitrates and dark color of the polyps im willing to bet its not getting enough light. Best of luck.

Patience. The hardest parts part of this hobby. Make sure you have enough light. They will take off out of nowhere.
