I live in Wyoming. There are no places that sale corals near me. And I would really like to have a purple stylophora. The issue I am having is not being able to see them. They sale purple, and then there are a few others like Blueberry stylophora. So my question is are they all the same purple? Or are they different purples? And which is the nicest shade of purple in your opinion? If you have a favorite purple, or even a different color tell me about it. Where you purchased it and what name it was listed under would be helpful. I have Stella Stylophora and it is thriving in my tank. I do understand that they will look differently under different lights. But I am betting there are folks in this community who have more than one and may have an opinion on whether they look the same in their tank or not.

So if you can help me in choosing the nicest purple, or any color of stylophora I thank you in advance.

I live a few miles away from Aqua SD and they have an assortment available currently:

I searched "stylo" on their site.

The pictures are fairly reliable.

What part of Wyoming are you in? I live in Loveland, CO and I have a ton of purple stylophora. Here's a picture of my mother colony. I have a ton of frags of this right now. Hard to get a picture that shows the purple. Excuse the Cyano, I'm on the way back from it being pretty bad.

There are a few different shades of purple... all the names mean diddly to me, but they are useful in keeping different colors separated. Several online vendors carry these and they grow pretty quickly so they should have stock pretty regularly.

This one is a "purple" stylo.

So of the ones that have names which do you feel is the one that stands out the most? THanks

Robin, Turtle, that is a lovely purple shade!

And just remember that depending on your particular lights, the purple you see in a web pic or another's tank may look different than color you see in your tank

KC I live in Casper. Not to far. I will be glad when I can visit the shops in Colorado again. That is a large colony! Wow

Mike I do understand this. Thanks for the kind reminder. I have not decided on permanent lighting yet. I have some temporary ones my corals seem to like. Thanks

And I mention this as a purple stylo fan who has been disappointed more than once. Good luck with your choice

I did see this sale. Looked like a good choice also. I sure wish I could just drive there. Such fun! Thanks

That is exactly what I am trying to avoid! I am an avid flower gardener and have been disappointed many times. I will spend extra for a blooming plant to avoid this now. Thanks for getting me.

I will go look now. Never heard of him before. Thanks for the tip. :)

Looked his site up would be all down for some order in S.C. but the selection is weak :(
He restocks pretty often and has some great deals and you can't beat his in state shipping rate. If you have a Facebook account search for his business page, he updates there when he posts new stock.

I noticed this also. But the shipping was low and the price of the one frag I wanted was lower than other places so I ordered it anyway. I did not buy any other corals to try and get free shipping or any other deals. I find I end up with things I neither really need or want doing that sometimes. Other times, well it is fun lets just say. ;)
