Purple Tang for sale

What an amazing fish. Mr Purp has been in my aquarium for more than a year now. Im terrible with names. He gets along perfectly with all my corals and other fish. Including a Hippo Tang and Yellow Tang. Eats anything meaty. Flakes, pellets and algae sheets. Grazes on rocks in between. Fed 2-3 times daily. He is between 5 and 6 inches in length. Nice and thick. All his food is soaked in vitamin rich selcon. He is very healthy. He is a crown gem ready for your aquarium.

I have him listed on ebay where I'm asking $599.99 as a buyout. I'd be perfectly happy with $500. Free overnight delivery. I am also open to offers. I really do not know what he's worth. So I'd appreciate any advice that may help me find him a good home. That really means a lot to me.

I care for my aquariums deeply and anything living in them. However, my wife and I both recently lost our jobs so I need to part with some things.

The last pic looks like he has 2 tails. Just noticed that. He doesn't sit still for pictures. Lol.

No way you can get a 6 inch purple tang for $100. Unless you are a wholesaler

I'd say $250- $350 would be a reasonable asking price. But it is just my opinion. Awesome fish tho. I love mine. Got it when it was roughly 2-3 inches and paid $125 for it at the LFS

That's the price of a black Hawaiian tang. I got my purple for 160. GLWTS.

I would take 250-350$ for it, many retailers here in miami have a bottom line price of 200$ for a purple tang that is smaller than 5 inches, but that is just what I've seen from some the best retailers in miami of course finding a good home for the fish should be the #1 priority apart from the price which varies... Beautiful fish i hope you do find a great home for it and also hope you find financial stability and get back in the hobby!

Local shop here in Kansas city just sold about a dozen at $125 each, and they were all about that size. The price on them has gone down considerably.

Wow. I'm jealous of you guys. Black tang 500. I wish. 800-1000 near me. Thank you all for chiming in. Price has been lowered to 349.99. I can't help but think a tank raised Tang would be worth more. And I have no intentions of being out of this hobby. Just like I'm not going to quit smoking. Addicted.

Now I fear your fish is only worth $60. With all the second hand smoke it has endured, it must have the beginning stages of lung cancer. All the anti smoking people say so!!!!

Beautiful fish! I agree that the price is high (for my neck of the woods anyway) and would estimate this to be closer to 250-350 than 500+.
