Purple tang help

I picked up this purple tang on Saturday and placed him in a 20 gallon long qt tank dosed with cp.

I came home to this today. I need some help I don't know what it is.

Looks to be a pretty bad infection. You'll want to get some antibiotics in there asap. First step is to do an acriflavin dip (ruby reef rally has this in it) for 90 minutes to hopefully arrest the infection long enough for the antibiotics to work. Then you'll want to dose kanaplex, furan2 and metroplex together every other day for a minimum of 10 days doing water changes before each dose. either that or Nitrofuracin Green Powder

i have acriflavine ms on hand i will use that for the bath. what is the dosing?

Add 1 teaspoon per 5 gallons of water.

I have to ask, did you put the fish into water already at therapeutic levels of copper? Or were you gradually raising copper levels?

Looking at my meds now. I have kanaplex and metroplex plus focus as a binder.

Should I does directly into the water following the label dosing? Also do I redose CP at every water change or should i pull the CP altogether while running antibiotics?

Ok, be sure to dose the antibiotics in the QT and continue doing that every other day for at least ten days.

Add the kanaplex and metroplex into the water with the CP. You can use them in conjunction. Every water change you do, you'll redose everything at that point.

Last question. Should i order the furan 2 to help? Or will kanaplex and metro be enough? I can see if Amazon can over night it.
