Two days ago I noticed little white dots around my purple tangs' eye and down by the bottom of his gills; this was only on one side. Today I noticed a white patch on the top of his mouth and it looked like it may be a little swollen. Does anyone have any idea as to what may be going on? Any help is appreciated!

^^ Agree, post photos showing the affected area(s). Might just be Lympho.

Agree as well. Pictures are going to key here. Clear, up close pictures with no -or little- blues on please :)

I only have an iPad to take photos and I have t5s, so can't turn off blues. I have not introduced ANYTHING into the system in 1 1/2 years.

Ok the dot by each eye is normal for purple tangs. I do not see the other area by the gills.
X2, I see nothing to be worried about in the photos so far!

Me as well. I see a perfectly beautiful purple tang. :)

Yeah, it's really hard to see in my photos. I just did a search and saw an image that resembles what I see on him and it mentioned HLLE. Is this possible and if so, how is it treated?

It's possible, but I really don't see any signs on it on him. However treating him for it won't do anything bad at all. Treatment includes a full and healthy diet with added vitamins like Selcon or Vitachem, clean water, low stress, High quality carbon and possibly making sure there is no current being leaked into the water.
