I have a nice 4" or so Purple tang I would like to sell. He has been in my tank for almost a year and has been getting HLLE. None of my other fish have it and I can't seem to make it go away. He eats great and in all other respects is an awesome fish. Gets along great with my Sailfin and Chocolate tang. You can see from the pictures they always hang out together. I would like to make a deal with someone who has a reef tank, maybe you'll have better luck with the HLLE. I've heard stories of fish changing tanks and HLLE getting better. I live in Duluth MN and am willing to meet down by the cities if need be. I'm mainly concerned about the health of the fish and will make a deal with someone who can give it a great home. I don't really want to ship due to my inexperience doing so.

If you'd be willing to ship at my cost all you'd do is bring it to your LFS and they'll handle the packaging. I've wanted one for many many years. I've been in the reef game for well over 30yrs.

Ps. I used to live on grand ave in St. Paul. Miss it profoundly.

I'll have to look into that...no promises though ;)

To comply with rules, I forgot to list my asking price of $50.

I have had a purple tang and still do for 6yr and had great luck with them. He or she is in my 90 gallon and has been in a 55 and i have never had any real issues. Interested in saving ur baby.

I've tried Selcon, Vitachem, feed lots of seaweed with a combination of NLS spectrum pellets/LRS Reef Frenzy/Rods food. I had been running carbon but stopped after I read that might cause it (put in a grounding probe as well willing to try everything). It has kept spreading over the last 6 months which is why I would like to see if someone else can have better luck.

I am not a member of TCMAS but I probably should be!

Have you tried feeding selcon?

I live in MN as well. Are you on TCMAS?

Tang has been re-homed to a nice farm, lots of running room ;). Thank you everyone for your support and wish him the best!

Mods please close.

It's not a farm, but the tang is coming to North Dakota. When I get it ill post what I do to clear up the HLLE and document treatment with pictures.

I expect pics as well! I'm very sad he will be leaving but I tried everything that I've read, including from other threads on R2R where people had success. Been trying for 6 months but can't reverse the trend. The health of the fish is of utmost importance to me so I think this is the best move.
