Purple tang sickness help needed

So I added my purple tang to my 150. Today I have noticed it is scratching and has A white tip of his stomach. That’s not all he also has what looks to be a piece of hair stuck to him. No icy or marine velvet visually present Need help have no clue what to do.

It would be nice to see a picture. The scratching suggests a parasite of some kind. Did you do a freshwater dip for flukes? - or any other quarantine? Maybe @ReefSquad @Jay Hemdal can help. I have not heard of a 'hair' like you describe - except once a small thread worm.

I under stand now. Picture will not help because it is gone now. But I have been watching him for the last hour. He went to the bathroom and he pooped out sand and the string thing . This all makes since because he has been picking at the sand and possibly eating it and he has been picking at my HOB Skimmer return which has a thing to block the micro bubbles. I looked at the sting and it matches that exact color and thickness of the return sock. I will dose prazipro and reef lab medic just to be sure. I am pretty sure he is fine, and he is eating right now. He has also not been scratching at all since he went to the bathroom. Thanks for your help
