Purple tang turned white?

No I didn't have niether in there. I thought the longer drip for them the better, was I wrong? And what else can i try feeding it besides nori? Can i try the live shrimp?
Well, the longer you have them there the lower the temperature is going to get also less oxygen hence it is recommended to use an airstone. Here's a good read http://www.liveaquaria.com/PIC/article.cfm?aid=157
My first purple tang would not eat anything but nori and even that took me a couple days. Leaving a small piece of nori overnight did the trick, guess he felt comfortable and ate it.
After I got him eating nori, I starved him for a day and then put just a small amount of frozen mysis and brine shrimp the next day...He then started eating anything from frozen to pellets and flakes.

I also hate drip acclimating. The temperature drops very fast and IMO that negatively affects fish more than most everything else you drip acclimate to address.

I put the fish in buckets and over the course of 20 -30 minutes I add cups of water from the DT. This aerates the water also and is a "step fixed" acclimation

And you do this with every fish instead of drip acclimation n never had any issues? I thought of tht but whenever i get fish the water is never enough to put in a bucket and i wouldnt want to put water in right away. How much water do you usually add bt. Tht time every time and do you pour out water or just keep adding?

I add new water right away. They're already acclimated to the bag water. Once you open it, the added oxygen fouls the water much faster and it turns to ammonia faster. It's a race against time.

I do it for every fish, and I add 2-3 small plastic "cups" each time. 3 for a big bag, 2 for small bag (meaning less water I do two because it's all about ratios of new to old water). Tip bucket on side and lean against tank if not enough water.

Thnks for this... I will be trying this the next time instead!

First off!!! Merry Christmas guyssss [emoji173]️

So he is still not eating seaweed but i threw some mysis in there and altho he is still scared to come from behind the filter sock he seen the food, ran for a piece and ran back to his hiding spot n just kept doing tht back n forth but he is really scared to come to the top of the tank and not all the food went to the bottom but everything at the bottom he ate. Im a bit confused as to why he is so afraid tho, as soon as he picked up a piece of shrimp he ran back to his hiding spot. I've never seen a fish like that before.

As he was eating i threw a piece of seaweed in there as well as some pellets, he ignored the pellets but picked up the seaweed but spit out most of it. At least he is eating i guess but can anyone tell me why yall think he is still so afraid to come out n just rome the tank like a tang lol? [emoji16]
