I do see what you mean he is kind of nodding out. I was going to ask what brand salt you beat me to it. Was cupramine a bit over .5 all of the 26 days? What other tests are you doing than nitrate? Also how many other water changes in the 26 days.

Imo if it was me I would end copper on this guy. Your average was above .5mg. Yes you run the risk of something may survive. However he was not the one with the spots to begin with. Also no guarantee he had a strain that would need 30 days. If anything do you have the ability to put in another isolation tank?

Were the spots observable before or after copper treatment? It very well could of been miss id'd as either a mucus plug or lympho.

First spots on gem tang a few on purples fins but nothing on body.

Could at least try to lower it closer to .4 before end it. Have to ask yourself dead fish or ich? They would survive the ich more than copper od.

Copper safe is a better choice. Good call on adding air stone. Are you sure spots were ich and Not flukes or even Lymphocystis? Pics a little fuzzy for me to detect much but Stick with advice of Jay

We have the suprasorb on hand to lower if needed but I don't think he'll make the rest of the cycle to 30 days. Should we taper down or just do massive change?

I see two options. Either end it, or lower it. If ending it odds are in your favor though only starting with 2 spots.

Either or I think would be ok. At least try that if you don't want to end it with 4 days left. Make sure its significantly lower. Not too low from lowest target point. (Going by .4) Maybe it will last the 4 days at that point.
