This is HLLE also stands for head and lateral line erosion and can be caused by many factors such as high carbon or copper exposure but often as simple as poor water quality (High ammonia/nitrate) and poor diet)
Im assuming your diet consists of Nori seaweed-flakes-pellets?
Often just focusing on water quality and bumping up diet will help restore, and in rare cases recover this issue
Test with good quality water test kits such as Hanna and salifert and feed some or all of these which are high in fats and aminos:
LRS herbivore diet
Formula 2 flake and frozen
TDO Pellets
small plankton
Hikari Marine cuisine
Ocean nutrition veggie diet
spirulina brine shrimp
mysis shrimp
Prime reef
Nori seaweed basted with garlic extract
Thanks! Yes seller said he used to add a lot of carbon in . Just put him in my reef where I grow sps and have lots of healthy tangs . Hoping he recovers
