I'm going to try for the Yellow Eye Kole Tang and the Purple. I'm going to keep my options open though just in case something happens and I can't have one. The tomini is a good alternate. Like 3ford said, and I agree, 2 tangs is the max for my size tank.

Me too! It better have some sparkle for the price. Maybe just the allure of having something, not many other people have is enough to make it shine. You'll have to let us know that too.

I'll spend 3000 dollars on car parts or put that type of money toward a down payment on my 700 horsepower Shelby GT500.

Smiles per gallon > miles per gallon > ridiculously expensive fish

My purple tang is nasty to new additions. Its been with me for 4 yrs i bought it on live aquaria as juv very small that it would get bullied now thats it mature its so aggressive its beaten up an emperor angel real badly and its very territorial so now i have to use acclimation box to introduce anything in my tank or it will get killed.

Is it your only tang? This often happens in few tang systems. Even with multiple tangs, it's always best to add several fish (several tangs being best) at a time. Not always plausible in smaller systems.
 
I have both the yellow eyed and the purple, along with a yellow and a blue hippo. The yellow eyed imo is a very peaceful fish, one of the easier tangs to house, and doesn't seem to grow too much. the purple was my last purchase for a tang. and she/he is definitely the boss of the tank, keeps everyone in check! def buy small if your keeping that 75g.
 
no deff not the only tang in the 180 theirs a naso tang, blonde naso tang, blue hippo tang, tomini tang, desjardini tang all been together for 3 plus years just the purple tang is the king in there.
