I don’t know what this is but it doesn’t seem to affect my tang at all

It comes around every other week. But it seems to go away after a couple of days. My guess it’s being stung by my bta or euphylias ? He flares at my clownfish from here and there while getting pretty close to the bta. It never shows up in the same spot twice, it is always on a different part of his body. It’s pretty hard to tell from pictures but in person it looks like a white patch.

Hard to tell from the picture. Are the growths white or greyish white and cottony or cauliflower like?

Not fungus like white. No fuzziness or anything it just looks like it got buffed out with the eraser from a number 2 pencil lol.

If the spots are about the same size and disappear after a couple of days and they are not increasing in number, you probably right about the stings: hypermelanization.
