Can I introduce group of 4 purple tangs(Zebrasoma xantharum) in a 365 tank? I read that they may be kept in groups but wanna confirm. I may also try to introduce a selfin tang later. This will be my first encounter with these

Before introducing 4 purple tangs. I'd check my stock portfolio to see if it a good time to take on such a big investment

Lolololololololololol
I hv saved much money. From last 6 months my tank is running empty. I was fighting from flukes problem when I gave my tangs to my freind who then denied to return them from then, my lfs can't find any tangs:rolleyes:

Just imagine how a 365 g tank looks when it is running empty! My wife even said that I should sell it:rolleyes:

I have seen this scenario more than once and NT aquatic keeps a harem in their display. Does not mean they wont fight but at least squabble. The pricing of these tangs have come down considerably as low as $90 each for 3+"

Yes you can! In my experience in keeps lots of zebrasome together, they seem to do better with odd numbers. You have 3+ which is great approach. But for some reason the odd numbers lead to less issues with personality conflicts.

You can add a sailfin later. Sailfins grow at a much faster rate than purples. So be aware of that. Purples are definitely more aggressive that Sailfins, so getting a sailfin the same size at the purples should lead to good results.

And once you have established this group of purples, you can add a gem tang, or a black tang - if of equal size - without too much of a chance of major problems (after the first 24 hours).

For some reason, if you get the opportunity to add yellows (Hopefully Hawaii opens again), then you have to add them in groups of odd numbers as well.

And the Zebrasomas are usually more jerkish to other Zebrasomas - so adding a Achilles, Powder Blue, Naso, etc won't create too much turmoil if it's a reasonable size for the Zebrasomas.

When introducing them I would try and stick to odd numbers. Whenever I introduce a group of fish they tend to do better and fight less in a group of 3/5/7. As for getting them,Nyaquatic almost always has good prices for purple tangs. I’ve ordered plenty from them and the fish always have arrived incredibly healthy and begin eating quickly.

where have you seen $90 for a purple?
Many weekends, NY Aquatics has a sunday auction with many quantities, and they put them on for this price.
Currently at $189
