Purple tube worm?

I have several of these small hard purple tubes and have noticed if I go to touch them something retreats downward ( can see the shadow) , looking for an ID, and if they are good or bad

Sounds like feather dusters but pictures would help

Google pictures of vermetid snails and see if that looks like your tubes.

I would say there vermetid snails after checking them out, this mine
