Purpose of fluor, and save dosage?

As mentioned in the title:
What is the purpose of Fluor?
What would be a safe dosage?

I have 1/2 kg Potassiumfluoride (KF) on the shelf.
The idea was/is to dose a minimum of it on daily base (similar to my KI dosage).

Be it that Fluor does have a home test kit I still am not sure whether or not to dose it and how to determine a safe dosage.
So better be safe than sorry, it still remains on the shelf.

Anyone who would like to share wishdom on this?

As far as I know 2%-4% of a coralskeleton is made up of sodiumfluoride and calciumfluoride due to the fact that the flourin in seawater is used as a calcification center (how strontium is used as well). And within coraltissue it decreases the amount of zoöxanthellae so you have to be carefull when dosing it or you will bleach your corals, but I have no idea what save levels would be.

Fluoride has limited known uses. Iodine has more uses, but still may not be needed.

I do not believe that fluoride had been shown to be important for coral skeletons, and I don’t think it is present at 2-4% of the weight, but I am certainly open to seeing published evidence of that.
